Ina Slater Grapenthin
Associate Professor of Music at Kutztown University in Pennsylvania
Dr. Grapenthin is a native of Leesport, Pennsylvania and a graduate of Reading Senior High School. After graduation, she studied at the Hoch Schule Fur Musik (Berlin, Germany), where she holds a performance certificate in organ. She also holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Ithaca College (Ithaca, NY). In 1971, she was awarded the Master of Music degree in Sacred Music and Theology from the University of Michigan and became an Associate in the Ministry. She added a Master of Education degree in 1991 and a Doctorate in Education in 1998, both from Columbia University (New York, NY).
Dr. Grapenthin has been a member of the Kutztown faculty since 1978. She has more than 30 years of varied experience in church music, is a nationally known church music clinician, has served as a traveling artist for Baldwin Piano and Organ Company, and has authored two books.
