This month is the beginning of the International Year of the Organ. What do you think would be the best way(s) to celebrate the King of Instruments and raise awareness about organ music?

Help a young organist go to camp!
It's just a few weeks until the April 30 deadline for Rodgers' annual International Music Camp scholarship program. Do you know a teen-age organist, pianist or keyboard player who would benefit from an intensive week of organ study? If so, please direct them to the camp scholarship information on our website. Applying for the scholarship is quick and easy, and could open the door to a lifetime of enjoyment of organ playing for a young musician. Thanks!
Rodgers steps up as a Year of the Organ corporate sponsor
Rodgers Instruments announced today that it has become a gold level corporate sponsor of the International Year of the Organ. You can see the press release here. Does everyone have October 19 marked on their calendar? There should be a lot of great music on that Sunday. Are any forum members scheduled to play special concerts yet?
How about this??
I'll be accompanying a community theatre groups production of King & I in early March using nothing but an 11 rank Moller Theatre organ. That should get the organ out in front of some people, don't you think?
No pianos, no synthesizers (except the wind blown one in the pit).
Sorry this isn't Rodgers related but after all it's an organ and the topic is International Year of the Organ.
To get back to Rodgers related: I regularly accompany silent films on the organ at Church, a Rodgers 4 manual Pipe console with 60+ digital voices combined with 36 ranks of Ruffatti and Wicks pipe work.
Keep on playing the good
Keep on playing the good music. Let people know who, what, where and when.
ADVERTISE!!!
movies
I think one the best ways to promote organs would be to have one or more featured prominently in a theatrical release. But it shouldn't be done in a way to make the person playing the organ as weird or a monster, etc. Since movies can cost a lot to produce, probably more than a single organ company can probably afford, perhaps some cooperation between organ companies can help raise the funds to promote a well produced Hollywood movie featuring an organ.
