Organists and vocalists alike say that when you hear a Rodgers, you hear pipes - not speakers. It's the kind of sound that makes people want to stand up and sing! Click on one of the tracks at left to listen for yourself to music recorded on Rodgers organs of varying sizes.

When considering whether to purchase the new Hector voices or instead to download an older version that now is free, look at the date. At this time, I believe this to be the latest version and well worth the cost to me for my church.
Some examples are the full swell with reeds and the great principals with and with out mixtures. The Hector voices on these "composite" stops sound realistic and are vastly superior to the similar stops in the 76 organ voice library that comes with the MX200.
My dealer and concert organist showed me ways to use them that I would not have had a clue. There is a Theorbe 10 2/3 +6 2/5 By itself it is an ugly stop. I thought it was for the pedals. Instead it is the basic foundation for a full French chorus. On thee great select the stop plus the Grand French Mixture V and the romantic foundation and reed stops on the great and swell and other divisions if you have them. Then in the pedals select the contra Bombarde 32 +16 and Pedal Grand Mixture VI plus the full array of pedal stops both foundation and reed. We have the Bombarde 32 on our organ, but it is no match for the contra bombarde 32. Hector's 32 foot stop moves air without distortion!
We have a two manual 808. A very good organ, but those four midi stops transforms it into a grand 19th century French Romantic pipe organ.
Same can be done with the Baroque stops. What makes putting choruses together so much better on the new Hector voices are those mixtures of six ranks or more. A Baroque prinzipal and Baroque mixture sound great without adding the four foot octave to the chorus. Same is true of so many of the choruses using the Hector voices.
Purists might not like this, but using the Crumhorn on the organ and the Hector Clarinette8 together as a solo gives life to the stop without adding the wah wah sound that the chorus control or the tremulant gives to the stop. The montre 8 is available as well as other stops.
It is possible to use the new Hector voices and the 76 from the organ and produce many registratoins that don't even use the organ stopsl
I had the old Hector voices. The new ones are definitely better.

New MX-200 on the way
My dealer just ordered my MX-200 last week. I'm a little confused on the Hector Voices (new or otherwise) - will they be installed on this unit?
Thanks,
Jeff
MX-200
Hi Jeff,
The stock MX-200 contains no Hector voices. These would only be available if your dealer has loaded them.
Best regards,
Roy
