We are absolutely thrilled with the sound; pipe-like characteristics of tone production, incredible flexibility of registrational variety, acoustical presence, and total dependability. The rapid response by Mike and Dave for voicing maters has been commendable. All in all, I hardly know how we could be more nearly certain that this is the perfect choice for St. James congregation. Our adult choir consists of 36 members. They are, without exception, well pleased. To give you a bit of my background to qualify this recommendation, my wife and I each hold Masters of Music degrees from Baylor University. We were co-directors of music in Presbyterian churches of 1,000 plus members before she became an ordained minister. My jobs have always been as organist-choir director at pipe organs of 50 or more ranks. I studied organ with concert artist-teacher Joyce Jones. I was a member of the planning committee for the 1990 PAM Worship and Music Conference at Montreat which introduced the current “Presbyterian Hymnal.” I have served on the faculties of Montreat, Mo-Ranch, and Glorietta Music conferences. Immediately out of Baylor I became full-time organist for Park Cities Baptist in Dallas. That church has over 9,000 members and large two, three, and four manual organs in its sanctuary, chapel, and choir rehearsal areas. I then accepted the position at First Presbyterian Church of Kilgore, Texas with its very large Aeolian-Skinner Pipe Organ. It contains the first chamade reed in an American organ.Recommend a Rodgers Organ? Without hesitation!Sincerely,David HuffstetlerOrganist, ChoirmasterSaint James Presbyterian ChurchJenks, OK
