Performances and AGO
Quite the impromptu concert took place in the Rodgers demonstration room at the National AGO Convention in Minneapolis last week. On Wednesday at midnight, as we were about to close, Cameron Carpenter's manager came in and announced Cameron wanted to play and he would like to play on a Rodgers. (For those of you unfamiliar with this 27-year-old maverick genius, go to www.cameroncarpenter.com and click on Revolutionary Etude).
Dan Miller and I invited him in. We had a standing room only crowd! He played the new 958II Trillium Masterpiece as well as the 928 Medallion Edition. He announced to the audience, after his third selection, "I really like this organ!" He held us spellbound until 1:45 AM. Cameron's selections and many improvisations were truly astounding. Personally, I felt very proud to work for a company that can build organs to please someone with his level of talent. (Click to see the pictures.)
Dan and I had a chance to visit with Cameron after his performance. He informed us he has a Rodgers 330 in his Manhattan apartment for practice and "loves that organ."

Silent Film
Hi Tom,
Thanks for the information on your concert. Back in my "Organ Grinder" days in Denver, the silent films accompaniment was always my favorite part of the performance. I wish I was closer. I'd love to attend.
Best of luck!
