Rodgers Instruments Wins Innovation Award

October 14, 2008

LAS VEGAS - Rodgers Instruments LLC was among the companies honored for innovation today at the annual Infor Excellence in Action Awards, which recognize customers for the use of technology to enhance business agility, drive innovation, streamline performance, and grow profitability.

The event, Inforum 2008, is the largest annual gathering of Infor customers, partners and experts who want to connect, learn and maximize the value of their Infor solutions. The nine winners were selected from more than 60 nominations provided by Infor customers, employees and channel partners.

Rodgers received the Innovation Award for its use of Infor ERP Baan, Infor PLM 8 and Infor CRM software to fuel a complete business model transformation as part of the creation of Rodgers Organ Architect (ROA). By introducing ROA, Rodgers was able to begin offering fully customized products at the same price and lead times as their competitors' standard models. This innovative transformation established several new efficiencies throughout Rodgers' business, including the areas of product design, manufacturing, dealer relationships, inventory management, and purchasing, while simultaneously opening new revenue channels.

"The accomplishments of this year's Excellence in Action Award winners showcase creative responses to an evolving business environment," said Rick Parker, Infor's senior vice president for global marketing. "Infor is proud to partner with these innovative companies that have used our solutions to change their business, emerging as fierce and agile competitors with their sights finely tuned on future growth."

"Developing ROA was truly a whole-company project - Engineering, Sales and Marketing, Manufacturing and Accounting all worked in concert," said Rodgers President Lloyd Robbins. "Innovation is a key part of what makes our company grow, and what pleases me about this award is that it was really won by everyone at Rodgers."
