The congregation of First Christian Church in Tiffin, Ohio was indeed blessed to be served by organist Mabel Smith for more than forty years. Mabel played for hundreds of weddings, funerals and weekly services in her five-decade career as the church organist.

Through the generosity of her estate and the thoughtful selection of a new Rodgers Allegiant 688 organ by the church's organ committee, her legacy can continue for many more years. When Pastor Doug DeVos heard the new organ for the first time, tears of joy literally fell from his cheeks. "It is incredible. No one would believe that there are not any pipes!" exclaimed Reverend DeVos.

The H. Leslie & Mabel Smith Memorial Organ was dedicated with a special concert in February 2010 featuring three gifted organists, the church's Disciples Singers and guests from across Ohio's Seneca County. The overflow crowd was treated to musical mastery by organists Terry Brassell, LuAnn Brodamn and Curtis King. In addition, Pastor Douglas DeVos gave a stunning vocal performance of The Trumpet Shall Sound from G.F. Handel's Messiah. The organ was designed and installed by the 2009-10 Rodgers Platinum Award-winning T.S. Good Church Organ Company, including Ted Good, Terry Brassell and Jeffrey Hoile.
