Knox Presbyterian Church is one of the fastest growing Presbyterian churches in the Chicago area. Within six years of the installation of their original 2-manual Berghaus Pipe Organ, they needed to raze the worship space to build a much larger worship space on the same plot of land.

It became apparent that the original 20-rank organ would not be sufficient for the expanded worship space and a committee was formed to look into various options for expanding the existing organ.

Triune Music developed the best plan at the best price to expand the organ to 35 ranks (plus) for the new worship space. The plan included three new 16' pedal stops PLUS an entirely new Positiv Division to be located on either side of the new central stained glass window (behind the choir). The custom 958 console included a much simpler MIDI system which is now integral to worship and simpler to use than the previous midi system. As is the case with all Rodgers Masterpiece organs, this 5-division instrument has a master tuning system that keeps pipes, digital stops, and MIDI sounds perfectly in tune at all times.

We at Triune Music are most grateful to the architects (Jaeger, Nickola & Associates, Park Ridge, Illinois) and to church member Alan Fry for their hard work on this project -- the results speak for themselves.
